Facebook chief  Mark Zuckerberg  on Thursday announced the parent company's name is being changed to " Meta " to represent a future beyond just its troubled social network.  The name change comes as the company battles criticisms from lawmakers and regulators over its market power, its algorithmic decisions and the policing of abuses on its platforms. CEO Mark Zuckerberg, speaking at the company's live-streamed virtual and augmented reality conference, said the new name reflected its focus on building the metaverse. Vodafone Launched Smart Tab N8

Vodafone launched a new tablet, named Smart Tab N8. The entry level device packs a MediaTek MT8735B chipset with octa-core CPU, clocked at 1.1 GHz.   The LCD of the Smart Tab N8 is 10.1” in diagonal with 1200 x 800 pixel resolution. The tablet has a 5 MP primary camera on the back and a 2 MP front snapper.

The Vodafone Smart Tab N8 has LTE Cat4, theoretically giving the option of reaching 150 Mbps download speed and 50 Mbps upload. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi b/g/n.

The storage available is 16 GB, and there is a microSD slot if you need some extra space. Smart Tab N8 has a 4600 mAh battery.

The product is offered only in Volcano Black color and is manufactured by TCL, the very same company that builds latest BlackBerry and Alcatel devices.
