Facebook chief  Mark Zuckerberg  on Thursday announced the parent company's name is being changed to " Meta " to represent a future beyond just its troubled social network.  The name change comes as the company battles criticisms from lawmakers and regulators over its market power, its algorithmic decisions and the policing of abuses on its platforms. CEO Mark Zuckerberg, speaking at the company's live-streamed virtual and augmented reality conference, said the new name reflected its focus on building the metaverse. "We've learned a lot from struggling with social issues and living under closed platforms, and now it is time to take everything that we've learned and help build the next chapter," Zuckerberg said. Whatsapp was down for two hours on Wednesday!

On Wednesday facebook owned messaging service Whatsapp faced two hours of global outage. The service was down for two hours and affected millions of users worldwide. Countries that had faced major breakdown included India, Canada, Brazil and US also.
Although whatsapp is reluctant to say about the cause of this worldwide downside but apologised for its inconvenience.

After it was restored the firm said that 'We have now fixed the issue and apologise for inconvenience, said Whatsapp.

But the cause of this breakdown is still a mystery. People are discussing possible reasons for the breakdown whether it was technical or a fault in the software or someone else is cracking down the Application. Whatsapp is reluctant to reveal the cause.
